Annual Wellness Exams Keep Dogs Healthy!
Neighborhood Vet Care has been helping care for adult canine family members for many years. The best way to assure a long, happy quality of life and help keep them healthy is with annual wellness exams. Wellness exams play a critical role in the early detection of any future health issues and are critical for disease prevention.
Our annual, comprehensive canine wellness exam includes:
- A complete “nose-to-tail” physical examination.
- An oral (dental) exam.
- Vaccines tailored specifically to your dog’s lifestyle, age, health and exposure risks.
- Heartworm test and heartworm prevention
- Recommendations for parasite prevention and control (i.e. fleas, ticks, and gastrointestinal worms).
- Nutritional counseling, exercise habits and behavioral counseling.
Depending upon physical exam findings, we may recommend additional diagnostic testing as needed.
Establishing a health baseline early allows us to measure changes in your dog over time, enabling us to detect the onset of diseases earlier when treatment and prevention are the most effective. It also helps us understand your expectations as a pet owner and allows us to establish a long relationship with you and your pet.
If you are a new client, please bring your pet’s previous medical records to your first appointment. This includes vaccination dates and any previous lab work. You can either bring a paper copy or ask your previous veterinarian’s office, rescue organization or breeder to email them to us.
